On January 1, 2000, OSHA mandated that all new forklift operators must be trained, regardless of experience and must be evaluated for competency at least every three years. Yale Lift Trucks offers courses that ensure that all formal classroom training, written exams, practical exams, and the operator evaluations are completed per OSHA requirements.
Complete Training - At Your Facility

Our trainers provide you with all the required documentation for your certification that training has been completed. This course is designed to fulfill OSHA's requirement that "only trained and authorized operators shall be permitted to operate powered industrial trucks." Pre-start up inspection and start-up safety procedures, routine maintenance practice, and operating techniques are examined. This course is comprised of thorough classroom coaching, including discussion and a written test, as well as hands-on practical training and evaluation. At the conclusion of this program students should be able to demonstrate safe operation of forklift as required by the OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standard CFR- 29 -1910-178.

Inspecting your forklift
Load handling
Pedestrian and dock hazards

Conducted on the first Tuesday of each month at the Tampa location. Contact Orlando and Jacksonville locations for scheduling. Training Course Cost: $75.00/student (Minimum of 5 students registered to hold class) Training program is the same as the Complete Training.
Train the Trainer- Safety Instructor Program* Conducted upon request at our facility or your own. Tampa, Jacksonville, and Orlando only. Training Course Cost: One Trainer - $595.00 | $100.00 per additional trainer
This program is three hours and is designed to assist supervisors, trainers and managers to become forklift safety instructors. OSHA requires operator training to be conducted by persons who have knowledge, training and experience to train and evaluate forklift operators. Training includes the following:
A detailed classroom/video presentation on forklifts and pallet trucks.
Full discussion of physics and features, inspecting, driving, load handling, fueling and batteries, and general safety issues
OSHA regulations and current proposed rules
Accident prevention and incident discussion
Hands-on safety inspections of equipment and operator daily inspection forms
Instruction pertaining to classroom management, record keeping and teaching skills
Operator accountability
Certificates of completion
